Job summary

Soltis Investment Advisors, LLC in Novi, Michigan is seeking a Tax Advisor to prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for corporate, partnership, and individual filings. You will ensure compliance and stay current with tax laws.

The role involves tax research, coordinating with external advisors, supporting audits, and improving internal controls and tax reporting processes. A bachelor’s in accounting and 2–4 years of tax experience are required; CPA background preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 2-4 years of public accounting or corporate tax experience
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
• Experience preparing complex tax returns, including corporate, partnership, individual, fiduciary, and nonprofit filings
• Familiarity with multi-state tax compliance and filings
• Proficiency in accounting systems and tax software
• Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for corporate, partnership, and individual filings
• Ensure full compliance with applicable tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements
• Conduct tax research and stay current on changes in tax legislation and regulatory updates
• Manage tax calendars and ensure timely filing of all required returns and payments
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and schedules related to tax and general accounting
• Support month-end and year-end close processes with tax-related accruals and adjustments
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors, including preparation of requested documentation
• Assist with tax audits, notices, and inquiries from federal and state agencies
• Maintain and improve internal controls, documentation, and processes related to tax compliance and reporting
• Support multi-state tax registrations, filings, and ongoing compliance requirements
