Youve put in the hours. Youve survived the deadlines. Youve built the technical tax foundation.
Now, what if your next move gave you the opportunity to actually know your clients, participate in year-round planning, and see how your tax advice impacts their entire financial picture?
Were partnering with a growing Phoenix-based family office and wealth management firm looking to add multiple Tax Advisors to its team.
This is an opportunity for tax professionals who want to move beyond traditional compliance work and build a career working directly with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families on sophisticated tax planning and comprehensive wealth strategies.
Youll join a multidisciplinary team of tax, wealth management, investment, accounting, and planning professionals who work together to solve complex financial challenges for successful families.
Youll prepare individual, partnership, S-Corporation, and trust returns while also getting involved in tax projections, research, financial modeling, and proactive planning.
More importantly, you wont be hidden behind the returns. Youll have opportunities to communicate directly with clients, participate in planning conversations, and coordinate with attorneys, CPAs, investment advisors, and other professionals supporting the family.
The goal is to help you develop from someone who prepares taxes into someone clients trust for tax advice.
Were targeting professionals with approximately 25 years of tax experience, ideally coming from public accounting or another sophisticated tax environment.
Youll need a Bachelors degree in Accounting, hands-on experience preparing individual returns, and experience with partnerships, S-Corporations, and/or trusts. Exposure to complex HNW clients is important, along with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
A CPA is preferred, but candidates actively working toward their CPA will also be considered.
Most importantly, you should want more than another tax-preparation job. Were looking for someone interested in becoming a true advisor.
Experience working with HNW/UHNW individuals and families, trusts and estates, closely held businesses, complex partnerships, proactive tax planning, tax projections, or family office/private wealth clients will definitely get our attention.
A Masters in Taxation or Accounting is a plus, as is experience with CCH Engagement or similar professional tax software.
During your first 30 days, youll learn the firms processes, technology, family office model, and client service approach while getting familiar with your assigned client relationships and prior-year tax work.
By 60 days, youll begin taking greater ownership of tax preparation, projections, research, client communication, and planning responsibilities.
By 90 days, the goal is for you to independently manage assigned deliverables, participate confidently in client conversations, identify planning opportunities, and understand how tax strategy connects to each familys broader wealth plan.
If youre coming out of another demanding tax deadline wondering whether you want to keep doing the same thing year after year, this opportunity offers a different path.
