Job summary

Innovative CPA Group LLC is seeking motivated Accounting/Tax Interns to join its offices in Shelton, CT and nearby locations. The internship runs from late January/early February through April 15th and requires a minimum availability of 20 hours per week.

You'll gain hands-on experience in tax preparation and exposure to other accounting areas in a collaborative CPA environment. Current undergrad or master's students in accounting, finance, or taxation with a minimum 3.0 GPA are preferred; CPA

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree or master's in accounting, Finance or Taxation
• CPA exam eligibility preferred
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 with a strong academic track record
• Proficiency with computers; knowledge of accounting software is a plus

Responsibilities

• Organize, scan & validate client information for tax return preparation
• Develop a working knowledge of tax preparation processes and software
• Shadow team members on special projects to gain insight into firm operations
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities
• Stay informed on changes in tax laws and regulations
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and confidentiality
• Possible exposure to audit and attest services
• Participate in additional firm activities and events as assigned
