Job summary

Innovative CPA Group LLC is seeking Accounting/Tax Interns to join our offices in Shelton, Bethel, Hamden, Ridgefield, Norwalk, CT and Worcester, MA. The internship runs from late January/early February through April 15 and requires a minimum availability of 20 hours per week throughout the program.

Interns gain hands-on experience in tax preparation, exposure to other areas of accounting, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced CPAs in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or master’s in accounting, finance, or taxation.
• Must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week throughout the internship program.
• CPA exam eligibility preferred.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 with a strong academic track record.
• Relevant prior work experience or internships are a plus.
• Proficiency with computers; knowledge of accounting software is a plus.
• Ability to prioritize, work in a team, and show leadership/problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Organize, scan & validate client information for tax return preparation.
• Develop a working knowledge of tax preparation processes and software.
• Shadow team members on special projects to gain insight into firm operations.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
• Stay informed on changes in tax laws and regulations.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency.
• Adhere to company policies and confidentiality.
