Job summary

GreenStone Farm Credit Services is seeking a Tax & Accounting Intern at our East Lansing branch for the Tax Season. The internship runs roughly from December 2026 through April 2027, with some travel possible. The schedule requires a minimum of three days per week, 6-8 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

Compensation for this internship is $20 per hour. The role offers hands-on experience in year-end accounting tasks, payroll tax reporting, and tax form preparation, supported by the Senior Tax

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an accounting degree.
• Sophomore status or above.
• Interest in tax preparation.
• Interest or experience in agricultural sector.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff in processing year end accounting information.
• Prepare payroll tax reports, coordinate workload to meet deadlines.
• Prepare business and individual W-2, 1099, and other miscellaneous tax forms.
• Provide support to the Senior Tax Accountant with data entry for income tax returns.
• Provide basic individual tax support and preparation depending on experience/education.
• Assist staff to ensure customer service that exceeds customer expectations.

We are looking for a Tax & Accounting Intern in our East Lansing branch during the Tax Season. The Internship will run approximately from December 2026 through April 2027. Some travel may be required. This position’s schedule requires a minimum of three days per week, 6 - 8 hours each day during the business week of Monday - Friday. Compensation will be $20/hour for this internship.
