Tax Accountant (Individuals, Small Business and Trust/Estate Taxes)Contract-to-Hire
Responsibilities:- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for:
- Individuals
- Small businesses
- Trusts and estates
- Communicate directly with clients to gather information, resolve questions, and provide tax guidance
- Use CCH Axcess and TaxDome for document management, workflow, and client communications
- Provide tax planning insights and identify opportunities for savings or risk mitigation
- Stay current with relevant tax laws and trust taxation updates
- Manage tax extensions, quarterly estimates, and other compliance filings
- Maintain organized and accurate supporting workpapers
Requirements:- Active CPA license
- 3+ years of recent tax preparation experience, including trust and estate returns.
- Proficiency with CCH Axcess and TaxDome, or willingness to get up to speed quickly
- Solid knowledge of current federal and state tax codes
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Self-directed and comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with fiduciary accounting and working with trustees or estate attorneys
- Familiarity with QuickBooks or other small business accounting systems
- Prior experience in a remote work setting
