As part of the Global Operations Team – all business professionals at the firm – you’ll collaborate with colleagues from varied backgrounds and experiences, fostering an environment where cross-functional learning, networking, and collaboration are at the core of what we do.

Here, we’re not just supporting a law firm; we’re partnering with attorneys and clients to deliver cutting‑edge solutions in high‑stakes litigation and dispute resolution, world‑class regulatory compliance and advisory services, and complex transactions. Our commitment to integrity, ingenuity, agility, and ambition drives us, and we’re proud to have been recognised as the “Best Business Team” by The American Lawyer.

This is your opportunity to grow professionally in a dynamic, global environment, surrounded by forward‑thinking peers.

The Tax Accountant supports the firm’s tax compliance, tax accounting, and payment processes across U.S. federal, state, local, and international jurisdictions. This role is responsible for preparing and maintaining tax‑related workpapers and schedules, processing tax payments, reconciling general ledger accounts, supporting return preparation and filings, and ensuring tax information is accurate, timely, well‑documented, and handled in accordance with firm policies and confidentiality standards.

What You Will Do
  • Prepare and maintain tax workpapers, schedules, and supporting documentation for U.S. federal, state, local, and international tax compliance, including estimated payments, extensions, tax returns, informational filings, and related reporting requirements.
  • Process tax payments to multiple jurisdictions, including coordinating payment requests, tracking deadlines, confirming remittance details, and maintaining evidence of payment.
  • Reconcile tax‑related general ledger accounts; research and resolve variances and ensure balances are supported by appropriate documentation.
  • Support U.S. federal, state, and international tax return compliance by gathering data, preparing analyses, reviewing source information, and coordinating with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
  • Process partner tax withholdings, composite payments, credits, and related partner tax reporting schedules.
  • Assist with state and local sales and use tax, property tax, and other indirect tax filings for applicable jurisdictions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of partner, employee, client, and firm information and follow established internal controls and documentation standards.
  • Monitor changes in tax processes, technology, and compliance requirements; participate in educational opportunities to remain current and improve team effectiveness.
  • Prepare tax‑related journal entries and maintain accurate records in the firm’s financial systems.
  • Support the preparation of information for external federal, state, local, and foreign tax audits and inquiries.
  • Prepare and maintain partnership accounting schedules and tax compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax compliance workflows, documentation, controls, and use of technology.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least three years of relevant accounting or tax department experience, preferably in a professional services, partnership, or multi‑jurisdictional environment.
  • Experience with tax payments, account reconciliations, compliance calendars, and preparation of support for federal, state, local, or international tax filings preferred.
  • Exposure to partnership taxation and partner‑level tax reporting preferred.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to research discrepancies and recommend practical resolutions.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage recurring deadlines across multiple jurisdictions and workstreams.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and strong documentation practices.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong comfort working with financial systems, tax compliance tools, payment platforms, and workflow technology.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with Finance, Tax, Legal, and external advisors.
  • Professional, dependable, collaborative, and self‑motivated, with the ability to prioritize competing assignments and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
