Job description

Tasting Room Associate — Laurel Ridge Winery

Part‑Time | Up to 30 hrs/week | $25–$35+/hr (base + tips + spiffs)

Laurel Ridge is one of Oregon's oldest family‑owned and operated wineries — and we're looking for a warm, relationship‑driven storyteller to join our Hospitality Team. If you love connecting with people and want to turn strangers into lifelong customers, this is your role.

Why You'll Love This Job
  • Strong earning potential: Base hourly pay plus tips plus spiffs — top performers earn $35+/hour
  • Room to grow: We're a growing company that promotes from within
  • No wine expertise required to start: Just bring curiosity and a willingness to learn — we'll teach you the rest
  • A genuine team culture: Work alongside people who care about hospitality, not just sales numbers
What You'll Do
  • Deliver world‑class hospitality to every tasting room visitor
  • Set up and host seated wine tastings with an eye for detail and presentation
  • Bring our wines to life through engaging, authentic storytelling
  • Hit sales metrics including sales goals, average ticket, and wine club conversion
  • Open and close the tasting room accurately and consistently
  • Keep tasting areas safe, sanitized, and guest‑ready at all times
  • Restock wine and merchandise — organizing, tagging, and stocking as needed
  • Pack outgoing orders and process wine club pick‑ups
  • Use our POS system to process purchases and capture guest contact info
  • Field inbound calls — booking reservations, answering questions, and routing messages to the right person
  • Partner with teammates to solve guest service issues on the spot
  • Handle daily housekeeping (washing/buffing stemware, sweeping, etc.)
  • Support events, wine club periods, and marketing initiatives as needed
  • Take ownership of the tasting room’s flow, guest experience, and brand standards each shift
What You Bring
  • Prior experience in high‑end retail, customer service, or client‑based sales
  • A passion for wine — prior wine knowledge isn’t required, but enthusiasm to learn is
  • Professional, polished communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A creative, strategic mindset with a genuine desire to help people
  • A track record of reliability, attention to detail, and follow-through
  • Comfort with a role that shifts direction and pace throughout the day
You’ll thrive here if you’re
  • Dependable
  • Goal-oriented
  • A continuous learner
  • Detail‑oriented
  • People‑first
  • Adaptable
Requirements
  • Must have or be willing to obtain an OLCC Alcohol Server’s Permit
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a Food Handler’s Card
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and walk 10,000+ steps per shift
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, push, and crouch daily
  • Must be available to work some weekends, evenings, and holidays (not every weekend/evening required)
Schedule & Pay

Schedule: Regular part‑time, up to 30 hours/week depending on business needs, weekend shifts are a must

Pay: Hourly base + individual tips + spiffs
