Job summary

IBM Consulting seeks a Task Lead and Systems Security Manager to oversee security aspects of implementing and operating systems for US government missions. You will manage risk assessments, compliance with DoW/NIST SP 800-53, and security posture across information systems.

Role requires active TS/SCI clearance, Bachelor's degree, and willingness to work onsite at Fort Meade, MD five days a week. Strong leadership and Cybersecurity Services management experience are essential.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Task Lead and Systems Security Manager you will be responsible for developing and analyzing the integration, testing, operations, and maintenance of systems security. This role includes preparing, performing, and managing security aspects of implementing and operating systems, ensuring alignment with US Government Mission requirements, such as DODIN operations, Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO), Offensive Cyberspace Operations (OCO) systems cybersecurity, CORA compliance, MMA, and related assessments. The manager will oversee the security posture of information systems, conduct regular risk assessments, and ensure compliance with DoW requirements (e.g., NIST SP 800-53).

  • Drive Service Performance: Establish programs and policies to maintain consistent service performance, ensuring high-quality Cybersecurity Services are delivered to clients, meeting their expectations and customer satisfaction measurements.
  • Manage Security Compliance: Document plans of action and milestones for corrective actions following assessment activities and in response to identified vulnerabilities, drafting security policies and procedures, including the system security plan, and conducting routine risk assessments to quantify impacts of vulnerabilities
  • Lead Team Success: Remove obstacles that may hinder the team's ability to deliver services successfully, ensuring effective collaboration and solution delivery.
  • Evaluate Customer Feedback: Monitor employee and subcontractor work, evaluating customer feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop Business Strategies: Develop strategies to drive mission performance, combining business and technical service and support functions.

This person will be required to come into the Fort Meade, MD office 5 days a week

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Deep Expertise in Consulting Engagement Delivery: Proven experience in overseeing the organization, administration, and supervision of consulting resources, business operation processes, and technologies required for successful and high-quality consulting engagement service delivery to clients.
  • Experience with Cybersecurity Services Management: Established track record of ensuring high-quality Cybersecurity Services are consistently delivered to clients, meeting their expectations and customer satisfaction measurements.
  • System Security and Compliance Management: Experience in managing Risk Management Framework and other required compliance operations across the full life cycle of system operations.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: Proven ability to lead teams and remove obstacles that may hinder the team's ability to deliver services successfully, ensuring effective collaboration and solution delivery.
  • Mission Execution Strategy Development: Experience in developing strategies to drive mission performance, combining operational, business and technical service and support functions.
  • Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI is required
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Cybersecurity Services Knowledge: Deep understanding of cybersecurity services, including threat management, incident response, and security consulting.
  • Contract Negotiation Skills: Experience with contract negotiation, including terms and conditions, pricing, and scope of work.
  • Risk ManagementTools: Familiarity with risk management tools and systems, including eMASS, Xacta and ACAS and others for compliance reporting.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
