Job summary

BOAB Ventures seeks experienced Targeting Subject Matter Experts to support an AI-enabled capability development program in the national security space. You will operate at the intersection of operational targeting and technical capability development, translating Joint Targeting Cycle knowledge into workflows and user stories for engineers.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Operational experience supporting the Joint Targeting Cycle at a Combatant Command.
• Deep understanding of intelligence support to targeting including object-based intelligence and target development.
• Experience supporting DoD targeting organizations (e.g., CCMD J2T/J2C/J23).
• Ability to translate mission problems into capabilities engineers can build.
• Ability to travel approximately every 30 days.
• Strong written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide Combatant Command-level targeting expertise across the Joint Targeting Cycle.
• Identify opportunities to integrate targeting workflows, data sources, and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Apply systems-level target development and target system analysis to shape capability direction.
• Translate operational targeting processes into developer-ready workflows, requirements, and user stories.
• Communicate tradeoffs, risks, and constraints to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Coordinate with operational users, intelligence professionals, stakeholders, and developers.
• Maintain awareness of theater-level targeting coordination across services.
• Work with joint targeting tools and data environments and governance structures.
• Ensure capabilities address real operational targeting requirements rather than hypothetical use cases.
