Assets Protection (AP) teams function to keep our guests, team, and brand secure and lead through crisis events. They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing and resolving theft and fraud to ensure product availability for our guests. They also build relationships inside and outside of Target, including store leaders and public safety officials, including law enforcement.

Typical Responsibilities

As a Target Security Specialist, your day may include:

• Greeting guests and creating a welcoming environment
• Promoting a safety culture throughout the store and exterior property
• Responding to and documenting security incidents
• Addressing guest issues to ensure safety
• Using de-escalation tactics and resources during incidents
• Conducting merchandise theft recoveries and supporting apprehensions
• Preventing theft and shortages by checking receipts and recognizing trends
• Documenting incidents in the case management system
• Using surveillance systems effectively
• Maintaining a culture of ethics, safety, and compliance
• Working safely and reporting hazards
• Performing other duties as needed
