Job description

Mare Island Brewing Co.’s Coal Shed Brewery Taproom, located in Mare Island, CA is currently seeking a passionate, experienced, and efficient Restaurant Manager to join our management team. We pride ourselves on embodying the rich history of Mare Island, serving up delicious craft brews paired with seasonally unique food offerings while being the local watering hole that our community has embraced. As part of our management team, the Restaurant Manager will oversee all aspects of operations and service at our Coal Shed location. This position reports to the Director of Food and Beverage Operations, and works with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and the Private Events Manager.

Job Type: Full-time (40+ hours per week)

Pay: $68,640 base plus performance bonus, depending on experience.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Staffing: all FOH hiring, scheduling, discipline, training, etc.
  • Opening/closing, and working floor to facilitate customer service.
  • Overall P&L responsibility, including labor and food costs.
  • Oversee maintenance schedule and needs for facility.
  • Assist in smooth running kitchen.
  • Private and Public event execution assistance (this location has frequent public and private events).
  • Oversee programming: music, trivia, etc.
  • Participate in manager meetings to help guide company.
  • Interface with community (donations, Mare Island association meetings, etc).

Experience and Skills:

  • At least two years experience required; minimum position of restaurant assistant manager or relevant general management.
  • Knowledgeable and capable in all aspects of restaurant operation.
  • Strong Leadership and people-management experience: hiring/firing/discipline/development.
  • Customer service expert.
  • Beer Knowledge and Brewery Experience a plus.
  • Awesome 'can do' attitude, ready for fast growth, inevitable change, and the knock of opportunity.
