Role Summary
Calicraft Brewing Co. is seeking an experienced and dynamic Taproom General Manager to lead operations at our Fairfield, CA location. This role is about more than just running a taproom—it’s about fostering a culture of hospitality, creativity, and community engagement. The Taproom GM will continue to integrate the former Heretic Brewery location into the Calicraft culture while ensuring operational efficiency, profitability, and a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Development
- Hire, train, and manage staff including: a Assistant Manager, Shift Leads, and other Front of House/Back of House team members.
- Cultivate a respectful, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
- Oversee scheduling, time-off requests, and team bonding activities.
- Handle performance management, including coaching, disciplinary actions, and terminations as needed.
- Operational Excellence & Financial Oversight
- Oversee daily taproom operations (including open/closing cash balance), driving smooth guest service and an outstanding guest experience.
- Maintain financial accountability, including managing the taproom’s P&L, labor costs, pour costs, and budgets: dining room supply costing, ordering, guest comps/voids etc.
- Implement systems to enhance workflow, staffing efficiency, and compliance with state and local regulations.
- Oversee payroll processing and reporting.
- Manage weekly/monthly inventory (beer, merchandise, glassware, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) regulations, Serve Safe, and Responsible Beverage Service training.
- Guest Experience & Community Engagement
- Develop innovative events, promotions, and community partnerships to increase engagement.
- Train staff to be company storytellers, educating guests about Calicraft’s products and values.
- Oversee venue safety, incident reports, and customer conflict resolution.
- Own vendor relationships (linen, pest control, safety services, etc.) and ensure seamless service.
- Facility & Maintenance Management
- Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and service contracts (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, pest control, landscaping, signage, etc.).
- Collaborates with on site brewery team to order equipment necessary for bar (Co2 gauges, tubing for lines, jockey box maintenance, tap plugs, crowler maintenance, slushy maintenance, etc.)
- Oversee furniture, lighting, plant care, and minor repair projects.
- Ensure digital services (Hulu, Spotify, etc.) and taproom tech (TVs, speakers, etc.) are functioning properly.
- Events, Marketing & Brand Representation
- Work with marketing and design teams to coordinate signage, promotions, and event collateral.
- Develop and execute large-scale events (holiday markets, charity events, off-site festivals, trivia nights, etc.).
- Manage reservations, bookings, invoicing, and event execution.
- Food Program & Vendor Coordination
- Manage relationships with food vendors and ensure a rotating, high-quality food program.
- Conduct weekly check-ins with vendors for quality and service consistency.

- Experienced Leader – 3+ years in hospitality management, taproom operations, or a similar role.
- Culture Builder – Proven ability to foster a positive, collaborative team environment.
- Business-Minded – Strong financial acumen, including P&L management, labor cost control, and revenue optimization.
- Passionate About Beer – Deep appreciation for craft beer and the ability to educate both staff and guests.
- Adaptable Communicator – Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate change and manage conflict.
- Hospitality-Focused – Understands that guest experience is at the heart of everything we do.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Use of hand carts and keg lifters to move full and empty kegs.
- Prolonged periods of standing (8+ hours) and/or working on a computer.
Work Environment
- Taproom setting attached to a production facility and full kitchen.
- Open office environment across departments.
- Evening and weekend shifts required on a rotating schedule.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $68,640 - $78,000 (plus performance-based bonus potential).
- Schedule: 5 days a week on-site, including evenings and weekends.
- Travel: Occasional (~10%) for new location support and onboarding initiatives
