Job summary

Upstream Hospitality Group is seeking an experienced Server to join The Tap Room team in New York. You will be responsible for delivering hospitality, taking orders, and promoting our menu and events.

You must have strong communication, teamwork, and reliability, with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. TIPS certification is required or willingness to obtain it, and you should be comfortable handling liquor in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience in a similar role.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build positive relationships.
• Availability – Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Physical requirements – Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Valid TIPS Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• A genuine love for hospitality and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Know our menu, liquor/beer, specials, promotions, and events.
• Take guests' orders with salesmanship and recommendations.
• Adhere to liquor regulations and check IDs.
• Input orders into the POS system accurately.
• Complete opening/closing tasks and side-work.
• Know restaurant layout, tables and storage areas.
• Promote the restaurant: Great food, good people!
• Follow Tap Room policies and assist teammates.
• Maintain neat uniform, positive attitude and punctuality.
• Read state IDs properly.
• Alert management to guest issues.
