Job summary

Upstream Hospitality Group in Bay Shore, NY, is seeking experienced bartenders to join The Tap Room front-of-house team. You will craft quality drinks, engage guests, and help set an energetic, hospitality-focused tone in a busy setting.

Requirements include 6+ months in a similar role, strong communication and interpersonal skills, availability nights/weekends/holidays, and a valid TIPS certification or willingness to obtain. Must be of legal drinking age.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience in a similar role.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build positive relationships.
• Availability – Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Certifications – Valid TIPS Certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) efficiently and with attention to detail.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive service to every guest at the bar and in the dining room.
• Ask for ID anytime serving alcohol to guests. There are no exceptions to this law and policy.
• Maintain full knowledge of our food, beverage, and beer menus, along with current specials and promotions.
• Ensure prompt service for bar guests, along with service bar.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the bar.
• Have knowledge of proper pours and use of glassware.
• Adheres to state, federal, and company liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Help promote our restaurant: Great food, good people!
• Assist fellow team members in the performance of their responsibilities. We want team players only!
• Complete all opening and closing tasks pertinent to the bartending position, as well as running side-work.
• All other duties as assigned.
