Job summary

Chemtrade is hiring a Tanker Driver (CDL A with Hazmat) to join our fleet in the Toledo area. This full-time hourly position involves loading, transferring, and unloading chemicals from tanker trucks with strict adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

You will conduct pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain accurate paperwork, and ensure safe handling of hoses and cargo. Benefits are included, and home nights are typical in this role.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CDL Class A with hazmat and tanker endorsements.
• Minimum two years of tractor/tanker experience and one year tanker experience.
• Clean driving record for the past three years and DOT medical card.
• Ability to provide proof of experience or training for safe operation.

Responsibilities

• Load, transfer, and unload raw product from a tanker truck.
• Transport and unload chemicals into customers' tanks safely with required paperwork.
• Safely handle hoses during loading/unloading.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Comply with company, customer, and federal/state/local regulations.
• Become familiar with plant operating procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position: Tanker Driver, CDL A HAZMAT

Primary Location: 1660 Campbell Street, Toledo, OH 43607

Schedule: Full-Time Hourly

Reports To: Regional Driver Manager

Compensation: $30.42 USD + bonus + benefits.

The range shown reflects the targeted pay scale. Actual pay within the range depends on work location and factors such as skills, experience, and education. Specific salary details can be discussed during the hiring process. Posted compensation reflects base salary only and excludes bonuses, benefits, pension contributions, and other incentives.

In This Role, You Will:

• Load, transfer, and unload raw product from a tanker truck

• Transport and unload chemicals into customers’ tanks safely and with the required paperwork

• Safely handle hoses during loading and unloading

• Perform pre and post-trip inspections

• Comply with all Company, Customer Federal, State, and Local laws, rules and regulations

• Become familiar with plant operating procedures

• Other duties as assigned

A Successful Candidate Has:

• Minimum two (2) years of recent tractor/tanker experience

• Minimum one (1) year of recent tanker experience

• Must have a valid Commercial Driver's License, CDL Class A, with appropriate hazmat and tanker endorsements

• A clean driving record for the past three (3) years

• Be physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle and provide a valid medical card

• Be able to provide proof of experience or training to operate the type of motor vehicle used by Chemtrade safely

Physical Occupational Requirements

• Employee must frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb stairs/ladders (including vertical)

• Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

• Must be 'fit for duty'
