Job summary

Depot Connect International (DCI) is seeking a skilled welder/fitter at our Channelview, TX facility. You will weld and fit mild and stainless steel parts, select MIG and TIG processes, and read measurements from job sheets to ensure precise fabrication.

Responsibilities include receiving parts, adhering to OSHA safety standards, maintaining a clean workspace, and performing additional duties as assigned in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Welding and fitting experience in an industrial setting preferred.
• Knowledge of MIG/TIG welding processes is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Handle welding and fitting of mild and stainless steel pieces.
• Weld parts together using MIG and TIG processes.
• Order and receive parts and supplies as needed.
• Follow OSHA safety and environmental policies for hazardous wastes.
• Keep the work area clean and organized for safety and longevity.
• Ability to wear a respirator and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Role overview:

Handles welding and fitting both mild steel and stainless steel, welding parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes. Performs thermal cutting and grinding, repairing broken or cracked parts, filling holes, increasing the size of metal parts.

Position Responsibilities:

• Must be able to utilize both MIG and TIG
• Order and receive parts and supplies as needed
• Adheres to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies and standards to include identification, use, and proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous wastes
• Clean, organize and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety
• Ability to wear a respirator
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Possess both welding and fitting skills
• Ability to operate an acetylene torch
• Read and comprehend measurements, and job sheets
• Worked in an industrial setting
• High school diploma or GED
• Welding Certificate is a plus, but not required
