Job summary

Dead River Company is hiring for a Tank Setter/Delivery Driver role in Nashua, NH. The position blends service, delivery, and installation responsibilities to support customers across seasons.

Qualifications

  • One year of experience as a service technician or delivery driver.
  • CETP certification and/or LP service licensing required.
  • Ability to obtain required certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate as Tank Setter, providing service, delivery, installation or repair to propane tanks and LP piping.
  • Deliver heating oil and propane safely to residential and commercial customers.
  • Perform safety and efficiency tests, tank sets, hook-ups, pickups and evacuations.
  • Participate in training programs to gain new skills for the role.
  • Maintain a neat, safe vehicle and professional appearance at all times.

Position Summary:

This position offers flexibility in meeting customer demand in both our Service and Delivery Departments. Due to the seasonal nature of the energy business, customer demand fluctuates throughout the year. Employees who possess the skills, training, and certification necessary to work in either a tank setter role or in delivering liquid petroleum products, help us effectively serve our customer’s needs in all seasons. In most cases, candidates selected for this position will receive additional training and/or cross‑training to be effective in this role.

Essential Functions:

As a Tank Setter, this position provides service, delivery and installation and/or repair to customer’s propane tank/s and/or LP piping. As a Delivery Driver, this position safely and efficiently delivers petroleum products to residential and commercial customers. Employees can expect to spend several months each year in either position‑ approximately 25% in Delivery and 75% as a Tank Setter or as workload dictates.

  • As an LP Technician this position performs Safety & efficiency tests, propane tank sets and hook‑ups, tank pick‑ups and evacuations in accordance with applicable codes, safety regulations and Dead River Company policies.
  • Eliminates call‑backs and reduces liability by ensuring that all work is performed safely and accurately.
  • As a Delivery Driver this position safely and productively makes deliveries of both heating oil and propane according federal and state regulations and company policy.
  • Actively participates in training programs to gain new skills in order to be most effective in role.
  • Promotes image as a trusted advisor through a neat appearance, clean uniform, and timely, safe and courteous service.
  • Promotes Dead River company products and services. Advises customers on best options for specific needs.
  • Maintains a clean and well‑organized vehicle. Ensures that all tools and equipment are in safe operating condition.
  • On call and overtime may be required to meet customer demand.
  • Performs all job functions according to state and federal regulations and company policy. Reports all accidents, spills, and liability claims.

Experience:

A minimum of one year of experience is required as either a service technician or delivery driver.

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Certifications:

  • Appropriate CETP certification and/or state specific LP service technician licensing is required, or the ability to obtain this certification and licensing.
  • Class B Commercial Driver’s License with hazardous materials endorsement is required.
  • CETP training and certification is required to deliver propane and tanks.
  • Apprentice oil burner license is required for oil delivery drivers who prime furnaces.
  • All CDL drivers must be able to pass a D.O.T. physical.
  • All CDL drivers are subject to pre‑employment and random drug testing.
  • Boom Operators certificate is required.
