Lactalis USA is hiring a Tank Room Operator in Buffalo, NY. This role focuses on proper maintenance and sanitation of silos, milk and cream lines, and related equipment within a dairy processing environment.

Weekend work is required; days off are during the week. The position emphasizes safety, precision, and teamwork to ensure product quality and plant efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.

• Basic mathematical skills required.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and clean samplers, activators and valves.
• Check and replace worn gaskets and o-rings.
• Replace QMI samplers at least weekly.
• Inspect silos and initial before reassembly; check titrations.
• Empty and wash silos every 72 hours.
• Clean whey separators daily.
• Ensure whey and cream samples reach the lab on schedule.
• Clean milk, cream, whey, and blend lines at day end.
• Coordinate silo rotation for pasteurization with supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness of tank room; roll hoses, cap ports.

LACTALIS USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Tank Room Operator based in Buffalo, New York.

Summary

Responsible for the proper maintenance and sanitization of all silos, milk lines, cream lines, blend lines, whey lines, separators and cream tanks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• 1. Manually disassembles and cleans samplers, activators and valves.
• 2. Checks and replaces worn gaskets and o-rings.
• 3. Replaces QMI samplers when needed, not less than once per week.
• 4. Ensures silo’s are inspected and initialed before reassembling. Check titrations document.
• 5. Empties and washes silos every 72 hours.
• 6. Cleans whey separators with a wash daily.
• 7. Assures whey and cream samples are at the laboratory as scheduled every two hours.
• 8. Cleans all milk, cream, whey, and blend lines at the end of each day.
• 9. Checks with Supervisor for silo rotation for pasteurization.
• 10. Maintains tank room ensuring cleanliness. Hoses rolled up, sanitizes pipes and ports capped.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and accuracy in work required.
• Ability to work well with others required.
• Strong communication abilities, written and verbal.
• Knowledge of computer software.

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma required.
• Dairy Experience preferred.
• Basic mathematical skills are required (must be able to calculate averages).
