Job summary

Lactalis USA in Buffalo, New York is hiring a Tank Room Operator to oversee maintenance and sanitization of silos, milk lines, cream lines, blend lines, whey lines, separators and cream tanks. Weekend work is required.

You will perform cleaning, inspections, sampling, and routine checks, ensuring equipment and labs stay on schedule. The role offers growth opportunities within a global dairy leader and a comprehensive benefits program.

Responsibilities

• Disassembles and cleans samplers, activators and valves.
• Replaces worn gaskets and o-rings.
• Replaces QMI samplers weekly.
• Inspects and initials silos before reassembling; check titrations document.
• Empties and washes silos every 72 hours.
• Cleans whey separators daily.
• Ensures samples are at the lab as scheduled every two hours.
• Cleans all milk, cream, whey, and blend lines daily.
• Checks silo rotation with Supervisor for pasteurization.
• Maintains tank room cleanliness; hoses rolled up and ports capped.

Weekend work is required, days off are during the week.

Summary

Responsible for the proper maintenance and sanitization of all silos, milk lines, cream lines, blend lines, whey lines, separators and cream tanks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• 1.Manually disassembles and cleans samplers, activators and valves.
• 2.Checks and replaces worn gaskets and o-rings.
• 3.Replaces QMI samplers when needed, not less than once per week.
• 4.Ensures silo's are inspected and initialed before reassembling. Check titrations document.
• 5.Empties and washes silos every 72 hours.
• 6.Cleans whey separators with a wash daily.
• 7.Assures whey and cream samples are at the laboratory as scheduled every two hours.
• 8.Cleans all milk, cream, whey, and blend lines at the end of each day.
• 9.Checks with Supervisor for silo rotation for pasteurization.
• 10.Maintains tank room ensuring cleanliness. Hoses rolled up, sanitizes pipes and ports capped.

Qualifications

• *Attention to detail and accuracy in work required.
• *Ability to work well with others required.
• *Strong communication abilities, written and verbal.
• *Knowledge of computer software.

Education and/or Experience

• *High School Diploma required.
• *Dairy Experience preferred.
• *Basic mathematical skills are required (must be able to calculate averages).
