Job summary

Lactalis American Group Inc. in Buffalo, NY, is hiring a Tank Room Operator responsible for the proper maintenance and sanitization of all silos and milk-related lines. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work with others in a fast-paced dairy environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning and inspecting equipment, maintaining sanitation, and ensuring samples are delivered to the lab on schedule. Weekend work is required, with days off during the week.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and sanitize silos, milk lines, cream lines, blend lines, whey lines, separators and cream tanks.
• Disassemble and clean samplers, activators and valves.
• Check and replace worn gaskets and o-rings.
• Replace QMI samplers when needed at least weekly.
• Inspect silos and initial before reassembly; check titrations documents.
• Empty and wash silos every 72 hours.
• Clean whey separators daily.
• Ensure samples reach the laboratory every two hours.
• Clean all milk, cream, whey, and blend lines at end of day.
• Coordinate silo rotation for pasteurization with Supervisor.

LACTALIS USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a

Tank Room Operator based in Buffalo, New York.

Weekend work is required, days off are during the week.

Summary:

Responsible for the proper maintenance and sanitization of all silos, milk lines, cream lines, blend lines, whey lines, separators and cream tanks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• 1. Manually disassembles and cleans samplers, activators and valves.


• 2. Checks and replaces worn gaskets and o-rings.


• 3. Replaces QMI samplers when needed, not less than once per week.


• 4. Ensures silo’s are inspected and initialed before reassembling. Check titrations document.


• 5. Empties and washes silos every 72 hours.


• 6. Cleans whey separators with a wash daily.


• 7. Assures whey and cream samples are at the laboratory as scheduled every two hours.


• 8. Cleans all milk, cream, whey, and blend lines at the end of each day.


• 9. Checks with Supervisor for silo rotation for pasteurization.


• 10. Maintains tank room ensuring cleanliness. Hoses rolled up, sanitizes pipes and ports capped.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Attention to detail and accuracy in work required.


• Ability to work well with others required.


• Strong communication abilities, written and verbal.


• Knowledge of computer software.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma required.


• Dairy Experience preferred.


• Basic mathematical skills are required (must be able to calculate averages).
