Job summary

Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality is seeking a Natural Resources Program Principal for the Storage Tank Program. The role oversees remediation projects, assists in design approval, and coordinates construction and inspections to ensure compliance and safe operations at storage facilities.

The position requires strong knowledge of environmental laws, project management, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects across agencies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of geology fundamentals, construction practices, and environmental cleanup methods.
• Knowledge of project management principles.
• Knowledge of civil and/or environmental engineering, chemistry, hydrogeology and related processes.
• Knowledge of environmental laws, rules and regulations and how to apply them.
• Knowledge of RCRA Subtitle I and underground/above ground storage tanks.
• Ability to read, research, interpret and apply state policies and procedures.
• Ability to proficiently use a PC and software packages.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Reviews consultant submittals and develops remedies for remediation.
• Analyzes complex environmental data and site characterization results.
• Answers technical questions related to policies, procedures, regulations.
• Prepares new project site descriptions and participates on consultant selection.
• Oversees consultants’ and contractors’ activities on remediation projects.
