General Dynamics NASSCO in San Diego is seeking a Tank Tester to perform hydro and air tests on hull tanks and associated spaces, ensuring structural integrity and tightness. The role covers test setup, data recording, and compliance with safety standards in a dynamic shipyard environment.

We require a minimum of two years’ tank testing experience, ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, and familiarity with shipbuilding processes.

Competenze

• High school education/equivalent preferred.
• Minimum two years of tank tester experience.
• Knowledge of ship arrangement and shipbuilding processes preferred.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces; read and follow safety instructions.

Mansioni

• Seal tanks and air test for tightness.
• Perform hose tests (air and water) for tightness.
• Conduct hydro tests for strength and tightness.
• Operate 700 GMP submersible pump.
• Conduct vacuum box tests.
• Perform minimal weld and burn activities.
• Maintain test procedure records.
• Other tasks as may be assigned relevant to the trade.
