Job summary

Weldship Corporation seeks a tester experienced in Acoustic Emission and Ultrasonic testing for pressure vessels used in industrial gas distribution. Training will be provided. You will handle trailers, prepare test files, and perform AE/UT procedures with a focus on accuracy.

The role requires documenting results and communicating with engineering, management, and production teams, while complying with safety protocols and undergoing nitrogen high-pressure system training as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires 2+ years of manufacturing work experience.
• Must have basic mathematical knowledge.
• Ability to understand and use common shop tools.
• Must be able to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Receive trailers for retest and verify scope.
• Prepare trailers and test files for AE/UT testing.
• Perform Acoustic Emission and Ultrasonic tests as required.
• Complete test reports and communicate results clearly to engineering and production teams.
• Adhere to training and safety protocols for nitrogen high-pressure systems.
• Support additional duties assigned by supervisor.

Job description

This position is responsible to perform Acoustic Emission (AE) and Ultrasonic (UT) testing in accordance with recommended inspection practices covering pressure vessels used for distribution of industrial gasses. Training is necessary and will be provided by Weldship. Testing performed within this position will include pressure vessels (tubes) of various size and shape that are mounted to containers and trailers. Work performed by this position must achieve the highest level of accuracy.

Job Duties:

• Receive trailers for retest.
• Understanding of work scope and work order.
• Prepare trailers for retest.
• Prepare test file and reports.
• Perform AE/UT test.
• Understand and accept training to operate nitrogen high-pressure fill system.
• Communicate effectively, in written and verbal formats, with engineering, management, and production personnel to accomplish testing process.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Previous work in a manufacturing environment, 2+ years.
• Mathematical knowledge.
• Understanding and use of tools.
• Ability to travel.
