Job summary

Savannah Tank and Equipment Corporation seeks a hands-on supervisor to lead the tank and pressure vessel testing, cleaning, and finishing team. You will report to the Operations Manager and drive production schedules, quality, and safety.

You will coordinate with QC, follow blueprints and BOMs, maintain a tidy work area, and oversee shipments. The role requires prior tank finishing experience, leadership ability, and a willingness to lift up to 50 lbs; a pre-employment drug test is required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading tank/vessel testing, cleaning and finishing.
• Knowledge of equipment, chemicals, and practices used to clean and passivate stainless steel.
• Ability to lead and motivate team members in testing, cleaning, and finishing of tanks/pressure vessels.

Responsibilities

• Lead team in tank and pressure vessel testing, cleaning, and finishing.
• Report directly to Operations Manager to ensure production schedule timelines are met.

• Follow blueprints and Bills of Materials to ensure tanks meet specifications for appearance, condition, and cleanliness.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Oversee outgoing shipment activities to ensure accuracy and condition of shipments.
• Research, develop, and implement process improvements for safety, quality, and efficiency of the Tank testing & finishing department.

Responsibilities:

• Prioritize workload and lead team members in the tank / pressure vessel testing, cleaning, and finishing process.
• Report directly to the Operations Manager to ensure production schedule timelines are met.
• Work with QC Manager to prepare tanks for pressure testing and final inspection
• Follow blueprints and Bills of Materials to ensure tanks meet required specifications in terms of appearance, condition, and cleanliness.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Oversee outgoing shipment activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
• Research, develop, and implement process improvement equipment and techniques that will help improve the safety, quality, and efficiency of the Tank testing & finishing department.

Qualifications:

• Previous tank / vessel testing, cleaning and finishing experience is required.
• Familiarity with equipment, chemicals, procedures, and practices used to clean and passivate stainless steel.
• Ability to lead team members in testing, cleaning, and finishing of tanks / pressure vessels while maintaining required quality and efficiency expectations.
• Ability to follow instructions, both written and verbal. Directly report to Operations Manager.
• Ability to handle physical workload including ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Must pass pre-employment drug test

Pay and Benefits:

• Competitive pay starting at $28.00 - $32.00 per hour for experienced supervisors.
