Job summary

General Plastics Manufacturing Company is seeking an experienced Tank Farm Technician to oversee chemical storage, transfer systems, and inventory flow. After training, you will monitor operations, ensure safety, and support procurement decisions while collaborating across teams to maintain production schedules.

The role emphasizes compliance with environmental and safety regulations, hazard handling, and readiness to respond to spills and emergencies in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Qualifications

• US Person approval under ITAR regulations.
• High school diploma; interest in chemistry/tech.
• Experience in tank farm operations or related field.
• Knowledge of hazardous materials handling incl. HAZWOPER.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance.
• Basic understanding of fluid dynamics and chemical properties.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
• Ability to work indoors/outdoors in varying weather.
• Physical stamina; lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control operation of chemical storage tanks and transfer/dispensing systems.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of tanks and equipment with Maintenance staff.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Manage loading and unloading of drums, tank trucks, and railcars.
• Record inventory levels and coordinate projected lead times with procurement.
• Work with Production Manager to ensure schedule adherence.
• Support raw material quality checks to inform procurement decisions.
• Respond to spills, leaks and emergencies appropriately.
• Maintain accurate regulatory documentation and records.
• Participate in safety and operations training programs.
