Job summary

Heniff Family of Companies in Joliet, IL is seeking an ISO / Tank Container Mechanic to inspect, maintain, repair, and refurbish ISO containers used for liquids, gases, chemicals, and dry freight. You’ll apply industry standards and safety procedures to keep containers in safe working condition for transport.

The role requires experience as a mechanic, ability to lift 50 lbs, working outdoors and in confined spaces, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience as a mechanic in container, transportation, or logistics preferred.
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in confined spaces or at heights.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Perform periodic tests and in-service inspections on ISO containers to identify defects and necessary repairs.
Repair structural components such as frames, cladding panels, valves, gaskets, and seals.
Repair tank systems, piping, valves, and pressure relief devices on tank containers.
Ensure repairs meet IMO/DOT regulations and ITCO guidelines.
Document inspections, maintenance, and repairs for regulatory compliance.
Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace to promote safety and efficiency.
Collaborate with operations and QA to ensure timely, safe repairs.
Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
