Job summary

Heniff Company in Joliet, IL is seeking an ISO Tank Container Mechanic to inspect, maintain, repair and refurbish ISO containers for liquids, gases and dry freight. You will ensure compliance with IMO and DOT standards and safety guidelines.

The role requires a high school diploma and hands-on mechanical experience in container/logistics, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Work at ISO depots with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience as a mechanic in container/logistics is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces.
• Strong understanding of safety standards for container maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform periodic tests and in-service inspections on ISO containers.
• Identify and repair structural components to maintain container integrity.
• Repair tank systems, piping, valves and pressure relief devices.
• Ensure repairs meet IMO and DOT regulations and industry guidelines.
• Document inspections, maintenance, and repairs for regulatory compliance.
• Maintain tools and workspace; collaborate with operations and QA teams.
