Job summary

Heniff Family of Companies seeks a dedicated ISO Container Mechanic to inspect, maintain, repair, and refurbish ISO intermodal containers used for liquids, gases, chemicals, and dry freight. You will follow IMO, DOT, and ITCO guidelines, document work, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Role requires hands-on mechanical experience, ability to lift heavy loads, and a valid driver’s license. Travel to multiple depots may be required; a strong safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven mechanic experience in container/transport/logistics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces or at heights.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of safety regulations for hazardous materials and container transport.

Responsibilities

• Perform periodic tests and in-service inspections on ISO containers to identify defects and repairs.
• Identify and repair structural components to ensure container integrity.
• Repair tank systems, including piping, valves, and pressure relief devices.
• Ensure repairs meet IMO, DOT, and ITCO guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Document inspections, maintenance, and repairs for regulatory compliance.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace for safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with operations and QA teams to ensure timely, safe repairs.
