Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a skilled Tank Production and Integration supervisor to lead a team of technicians on the production floor. You will ensure machining, drilling and assembly tasks align with drawings and quality standards while coordinating scheduling and cross-functional communication.

Ideal candidates will have aerospace manufacturing experience, strong leadership capabilities, and a solid background in lean methods, DFx and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 5 years experience in Aerospace Manufacturing environment, particularly in precision drill ops, confined space integration and overhead crane operations.
• Experience leading teams whether as a technical Lead or supervisor.
• Lean manufacturing training and experience.
• Experience monitoring, tracking and continually improving total cost equation.
• Experience applying lean manufacturing principles and efficiency methods.
• Ability to read/interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, assembly procedures and parts lists.
• Familiarity with DFx, Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA.
• Experience with flight-quality hardware production environments.
• Able to adapt to changing assignments and fast-paced work.
• Proficient with MS Office, ERP and related software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and steer the collective efforts of all Tank assembly and Integration production technicians.
• Enforce area standards and operational rules, including reviews and mentoring.
• Interface with area leadership and prioritize work to schedules.
• Schedule risk identification and mitigation.
• Coordinate support organization efforts to minimize interruptions.
• Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications.
• Support dispositioning of non-conforming hardware back to conforming state.
• Improve area safety and efficiency through audits and improvements.
• Establish and analyze area metrics for training, efficiency and defect reduction.
• Lead efforts to move product from LRI to full-rate production.
• Review drawings and data packages for manufacturability and provide feedback.
