Blue Origin in Florida is seeking a Shift Leader to supervise a skilled team of Technicians in fabrication, drilling, and assembly of aerospace structures. You will drive safety, quality, and lean improvements while meeting production goals across multiple shifts.

Ideal candidates bring extensive aerospace manufacturing leadership, strong problem‑solving skills, and a proven track record of improving first pass yield and cross‑functional coordination.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, assembly, integration, or a related manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of experience leading production teams, manufacturing cells, or shift operations.
• Interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing specifications.
• Experience with precision drilling, fixturing, and aerospace manufacturing processes.
• Experience with precision measurement equipment (torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers).
• Experience coordinating work across Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Supply Chain.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work at heights, lift up to 50 lbs, confined spaces.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and MES.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Technicians in fabrication, drilling, and assembly of aerospace structures.
• Promote safety, quality, and operational excellence across every shift.
• Execute the daily production plan while balancing safety, quality, and labor efficiency.
• Conduct shift startup meetings and communicate priorities to the team.
• Ensure work follows engineering drawings, specifications, and standard work.
• Identify bottlenecks and coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve them.
• Provide hands-on guidance for structural assembly, fixturing, and alignment.
• Own shift metrics including Safety, Quality, Delivery, and First Pass Yield.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and career development of manufacturing personnel.
