Job summary

YWCA Seattle King Snohomish is seeking an Employment Specialist to support TANF participants, guide them through readiness training, and place them in unsubsidized work opportunities. The role centers on workforce development, advocacy, and relationship-building with employers across multiple sites.

You will work onsite with a social justice orientation, engage in data reporting, and collaborate with partners to remove barriers to employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social services, social work, education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–2 years of experience in recruitment, enrollment, career planning, and job placement.
• Knowledge of local labor market and target populations.
• Bi-lingual language skills highly desired; strong customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, screen, determine eligibility, enroll, and orient participants.
• Administer, score, and interpret assessments for clients.
• Determine job readiness and placement needs; develop development plans.
• Provide job search preparation and resume coaching; refer to support services.
