Note - Pay is dependent on education and experience, with the top of the range reflecting 10+ years of experience holding a similar title, job duties, and having done it within the finance industry.

Position Summary

The Talent Specialist is responsible for serving as the People Center's subject matter expert for employee relations, workforce consulting, policy interpretation, and regional People Center operations. This role partners closely with operational leaders to resolve complex employee concerns, interpret employment practices, identify workforce trends, strengthen compliance, and improve People Center programs while providing advanced consultation that enhances organizational capability and employee experience. Through analytical insight, trusted partnership, and operational expertise, the Talent Specialist strengthens workforce effectiveness, supports organizational health, and advances a positive workplace culture.

Reporting through the People Center of Excellence, the Talent Specialist translates organizational workforce strategies, employment practices, compliance requirements, and People Center priorities into practical business solutions by partnering with Talent Coordinators, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning, Payroll, leaders, executive leadership, and internal business partners to resolve complex employee relations matters, interpret policies, analyze workforce trends, improve People Center processes, guide organizational change, support compliance initiatives, and strengthen leader capability across assigned business areas. The role applies expertise in employee relations, workforce consulting, HR compliance, conflict resolution, workforce analytics, organizational problem solving, and continuous improvement to strengthen leadership decision making, improve employee experiences, reduce organizational risk, and enhance People Center effectiveness.

Serving as the organization's technical expert for frontline People Center operations, this role builds enterprise capability by identifying workforce trends, improving People Center processes, strengthening policy application, coaching leaders, enhancing workforce analytics, and promoting consistent employment practices across the organization. Success in this position requires balancing consultation, analytical thinking, communication, sound judgment, influence, collaboration, adaptability, confidentiality, operational discipline, and employee advocacy while enabling leaders, strengthening organizational culture, and advancing the credit union's mission through exceptional workforce stewardship.

Knowledge Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations practices, HR operations, onboarding, and compliance administration.
  • Ability to interpret and apply HR policies, procedures, and employment practices consistently.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical capability in tracking trends, interpreting workforce data, and generating actionable insights.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and sensitive employee issues simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, ticketing systems, and workforce reporting tools.
  • Ability to balance employee advocacy, policy discipline, and organizational consistency.
Education And/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.
  • Typically 2–4 years of progressive HR generalist, employee relations, HR operations, or talent support experience.
  • Experience in employee relations coordination, onboarding administration, compliance tracking, or HR service delivery preferred.
  • Financial services, banking, or credit union experience preferred.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or related HR certification preferred.
