Job summary

Tusculum University seeks a Talent Search Academic Advisor to serve 6th–8th grade students in Cocke and Unicoi counties. This 11-month, full-time outreach position is based at the Greeneville campus and reports to the Talent Search Project Director.

The Advisor travels weekly to assigned schools to provide educational and career awareness, identify and recruit participants, collect data, conduct small group sessions, and collaborate with school personnel and parents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required (master's preferred).
• 2 years of work experience in education, social/behavioral sciences, counseling, student personnel, or related field.
• Experience with disadvantaged students.

Responsibilities

• Travel to assigned schools weekly to meet participants.
• Provide educational and career awareness to students to encourage college enrollment.
• Identify, recruit, and select participants; collect and maintain data.
• Conduct small group sessions; design and participate in activities.
• Collaborate with school personnel and parents; occasional evening/weekend work.
