Position Title: Talent Development & Engagement Specialist

Location: Remote USA

Reports to: Director of Human Resources

Since 1988, Rainforest Trust has been safeguarding imperiled tropical habitats and saving endangered species by creating and expanding protected and conserved areas. That very much includes supporting rights-based conservation measures such as affirming and securing rights to Indigenous or Traditional Territories, recognizing Conserved Areas (OECMs), and establishing traditional Protected Areas, including those with co-management of Indigenous or local communities. Working in partnership with local organizations and communities, we have protected more than 70 million acres of vital habitat across Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Pacific. HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE TO OUR MISSION:

As Rainforest Trust's Talent Development & Engagement Specialist you will,

  • Strengthen employee engagement and connection to RT's mission, values, and culture across our geographically dispersed workforce.
  • Support an inclusive and equitable employee experience that reflects the needs of a diverse, international workforce.
  • Develop and facilitate employee engagement efforts and support meaningful action on employee feedback.
  • Strengthen people manager effectiveness through practical resources, learning opportunities, and ongoing support.
  • Coordinate learning and development initiatives that build employee capabilities and support organizational and mission priorities.
  • Support effective and equitable performance management, goal setting, and employee development processes.
  • Strengthen connection and collaboration among employees working across countries, cultures, and functions..
  • As a member of a small, collaborative HR team, this role contributes to organization-wide recruitment efforts and provides support across a range of HR operational and administrative activities as organizational needs arise.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, WE'RE HOPING YOU'LL HAVE:

  • Experience using strong communication skills to align remote employee engagement, culture, and experience initiatives with organizational values..
  • Experience successfully applying equitable, inclusive HR practices tailored to diverse workforce needs, ideally while working with global, multicultural teams.
  • Expertise in effective people-management practices (coaching, feedback, performance management) with experience developing effective manager training and resources, facilitating impactful workshops, and providing practical guidance while knowing when to elevate.
  • Experience administering employee surveys/feedback mechanisms, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to identify themes, and translating insights into actionable recommendations and programs that have demonstrably improved employee experience.
  • Strong attention to accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Experience evaluating HR programs or processes to improve effectiveness.
  • Experience managing employee learning, training, or development programs, including assessing needs, coordinating facilitators and platforms, and evaluating program effectiveness.
  • Experience successfully managing timelines, clear communications, and HR systems to support effective performance reviews, goal-setting, and employee development programs.
  • Experience using strong relationship-building, facilitation, and engagement skills to coordinate cross-functional initiatives that support remote, multicultural teams with strong relationship-building, facilitation, and engagement. skills.
  • A preference for working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with the ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgment, and adapt to changing needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote environment, including strong self-management, proactive communication, and reliable follow-through.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Rainforest Trust is a remote first organization and the incumbent will be expected to work primarily from home with an excellent internet connection, though part-time office space may be available in Washington DC.

ANTICIPATED SALARY

The salary range for this position is $67,000 - $74,000 commensurate with experience. This base compensation range represents the anticipated low and high range of wages for this position. Salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
