Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Data Scientist to join our Talent Analytics & Insights team. You will apply quantitative skills in data analysis, hypothesis testing, and research design to workforce questions such as attrition, planning, mobility, engagement, and performance outcomes.

You will communicate findings to senior leaders with visuals and clear summaries. Remote work is possible, with preference for occasional work from Reston, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field with 5+ years of experience, or Master's with up to 3 years of experience.
• 9+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Solid grounding in statistics, including hypothesis testing, correlation, and regression modeling.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating relational data.
• Proficiency in R or Python for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.
• Ability to communicate analytical results clearly in writing and speech.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage projects independently.
• US citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct descriptive and diagnostic analyses of workforce data to surface trends and patterns.
• Apply hypothesis testing, correlation analysis, and regression techniques to workforce questions.
• Extract, join, transform, and validate data from enterprise data warehouse and HR systems using SQL.
• Translate business questions into structured analytical approaches and deliver end-to-end analyses.
• Communicate findings to HR and business stakeholders with visualizations and summaries.
• Partner with HR functions throughout analytics initiatives from data gathering to documentation.
• Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive workforce data.
