Job summary

Barminco, part of the Perenti Group, seeks a Talent Acquisition Specialist based in Denver to recruit for mining, skilled trades, technical, supervisory, administrative and corporate roles across the United States and Canada. This hybrid role combines office work with site visits and travel to project sites.

You will manage sourcing through offers, partnering with hiring managers and HR to fill multiple vacancies with high-volume and hard-to-fill roles, while building strong candidate

Qualifications

  • Minimum four years of dedicated recruitment experience.
  • Experience in mining, construction, skilled trades, or heavy industrial operations preferred.
  • Strong sourcing, screening and interviewing skills.
  • Experience with ATS/HRIS and MS Office; Excel for reporting is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment from job postings to offers and pre-employment.

The Opportunity:

Barminco is seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to support recruitment across our operations in the United States and Canada. Based in Denver, this position offers a combination of remote and in-office work, with opportunities to travel to our mine sites and develop a firsthand understanding of our people and operations.

You will manage recruitment from initial sourcing through offer and pre-employment requirements, working closely with hiring managers and HR to recruit for mining, skilled trades, technical, supervisory, administrative, and corporate positions. We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, enjoys finding candidates for challenging vacancies, and builds strong relationships with candidates and hiring teams.

Schedule & Travel
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a combination of remote and in-office work.
  • Approximately 20% travel within the United States and Canada to support recruitment, attend events, and visit project sites.
  • Hours and days of work will vary when working from project site locations to meet operational needs.
  • Site visits may include overnight stays in camp accommodations, underground training, and job observation.
Job Title: Talent Acquisition Specialist
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviews, reference checks, offers, and coordination of pre-employment requirements.
  • Partner with hiring managers and site HR to understand position requirements,establishhiring priorities, and support candidateselection.
  • Proactivelyidentifycandidates through LinkedIn, job boards, direct outreach, employee referrals, and industry networks.
  • Build andmaintaintalent pipelines for current andanticipatedvacancies, including high-volume and hard-to-fill roles.
  • Maintain regular communication with candidates and hiring teams, providingtimelyupdatesand coordinating the transition to onboarding and mobilization.
  • Participate in career fairs, community outreach, and industry events, and build relationships with schools, training providers, and employment organizations.
  • Maintainaccuraterecruitment records and prepare weekly and monthly reports using HRIS and Excel.
  • Identifypractical improvements to recruitment processes whilemaintainingconfidentiality and following company policies and applicable employment requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum four years of dedicated recruitment experience, including independently managing multiple vacancies and competing priorities.
  • Experience in mining, construction, skilled trades, or heavy industrial operations preferred.
  • Strong sourcing, screening, and interviewing skills, with experience supporting high-volume recruitment and hard-to-fill positions.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and HR colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems, HRIS, and Microsoft Office, including Excel for recruitment tracking and reporting. Familiarity with ADP and SuccessFactors preferred.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and other candidate sourcing tools preferred.
  • Experience recruiting in both the United States and Canada considered an asset.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant HR coursework or professional certification considered an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport, with the ability to travel within the United States and Canada.
Work Environment

This role combines office-based recruitment with time at our project sites. Site visits include orientations, underground training, and job observation to understand the roles being recruited. Activities may require walking on uneven terrain, climbing stairs and ladders, and accessing vehicles and equipment in environments with noise, dust, and variable temperatures. Employees must wear required personal protective equipment and follow all site safety and training requirements. Essential duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Competitive pay: Annual salary of $90,000–$115,000, based on experience and qualifications.
