Job summary

DP Electric Inc. in Tempe, AZ is hiring a Talent Acquisition Specialist to source, attract, and hire qualified staff for commercial and industrial projects. You will prescreen, interview, and collaborate with hiring managers to ensure timely, compliant recruiting and a positive candidate experience.

You will maintain ATS records, coordinate onboarding, and help shape talent branding with marketing. A two-year recruitment background and an associate degree are required; a BA and SHRM credentials

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • Two (2) years of recruitment, selection, and talent management activities.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or Talent Acquisition credential is a plus.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Performs para-professional work in recruitment, selection, and onboarding qualified staff.
  • Collaborates with hiring departments to understand staffing needs and initiate recruitment activities.
  • Prescreens, tests, interviews, and selects potential job candidates.
  • Collaborates with hiring managers and HR during the offer process, advising compensation and timing.
  • Oversees onboarding processes to enhance new hire experience and retention.
  • Maintains applicant tracking system, recruitment materials, and job descriptions.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with recruiting vendors and attends events.
  • Partners with marketing to update talent branding on recruitment platforms.
  • Ensures compliance with employment laws and company policies.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team. The Talent Acquisition Specialist performs para-professional work in sourcing, attracting, and hiring qualified professional, technical, and skilled staff. Assists senior staff in developing and implementing recruitment and selection strategies, techniques, metrics, and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs para-professional work in recruitment, selection, and onboarding qualified staff.

  • Collaborates with hiring departments to understand their staffing needs and to initiate recruitment and selection activities.

  • Prescreens, tests, interviews, and selects potential job candidates.

  • Collaborates with hiring managers and human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending compensation, timing, and other work arrangements.

  • Oversees onboarding processes to enhance new hire experience and support retention goals.

  • Maintains applicant tracking system, marketing collateral, job descriptions, and recruitment/selection records.

  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with recruiting vendors; attends and participates in job fairs and other recruiting events.

  • Partners with marketing department to update and maintain talent branding on web recruitment platforms and related systems.

  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employments laws and regulations, and compliancy policies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Associate's degree in human resources, business administration, or a closely related field.

  • Two (2) years of experience in recruitment, selection, and talent management activities, or a closely related field.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.

  • Experience in the construction industry.

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or SHRM's Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential.

OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience that results in the successful performance of the job. Additional education may substitute for required experience on one-for-one year basis or vice versa.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of recruitment, selection, and employee onboarding procedures.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Work Environment
  • Sedentary work environment. Work performed generally in the office settings and requires limited physical, ergonomic, or emotional efforts. Work may generally require walking, standing, bending, kneeling, carrying light loads and lifting no more than 10 pounds.
