Job description

Company Overview

Metrea delivers effects-as-a-service to national security partners across five domains and more than a dozen mission areas. These include airborne ISR, electronic warfare, secure communications, aerial refueling, special air missions, aerial firefighting, and advanced simulation. We own the whole stack: designing, building, and operating turnkey capabilities that give our partners decisive, asymmetric advantage against rapidly evolving threats.

Our operating model is built around three interlocking pillars. The Support Groups provide a global shared-service – spanning people, finance, platform, operations, legal, and engagement. This frees up our Core Groups, who develop and own mission capabilities end-to-end, to focus entirely on delivery. The Market Groups apply a regional lens, ensuring that our agile and adaptable capabilities remain aligned to the wicked problems that matter most to our partners across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific.

At the heart of our model is a simple but powerful idea: be a true partner with skin in the game. Our partners need effects, not just equipment. By owning the full stack – from the lab to the field – we are able to drive a continuous cycle of innovation that keeps our partners ahead. It’s a fast-moving, intellectually demanding environment where talented people are given real responsibility, work on problems that matter, and contribute to an enterprise that is growing quickly and deliberately.

Headquartered in Washington, DC, with facilities across the United States, the United Kingdom, as well as Continental Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Position Summary

At Metrea, we seek out the most demanding national security challenges and proactively develop elegant solutions – those solutions start with our people, and their ability to deliver mission-critical effects around the world.

Our Talent Acquisition team operates as a strategic function embedded in the business—bringing deep recruiting expertise, sharp market judgment, and a consultative approach that influences how the organization grows.

In this role, you will partner closely with senior leaders across Metrea’s global Support Groups (i.e. People, Finance, Legal, Operations, Engagement, etc.) to deliver high-quality hiring at pace and at bar. You’ll own a broad portfolio of searches ranging from senior, high-touch executive searches to specialist and operational hiring, while building genuine organizational knowledge and credibility.

What You’ll Do

You will be successful if you hold a high standard for talent, know how to move fast without cutting corners, and can earn trust with senior stakeholders through clear thinking and well-grounded recommendations. This role suits someone who has recruited rigorously before and wants to apply that judgement in a mission-driven environment.

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment across globally dispersed enterprise Support Groups, managing a mix of operational, specialist, and leadership searches
  • Partner with hiring managers and senior stakeholders to shape talent strategies that align with business priorities, bringing both market knowledge and a point of view on how best to hire
  • Source and build pipelines proactively, engaging and nurturing relationships with candidates and prospects using empathy and transparency, ensuring alignment with Metrea’s mission and values
  • Guide and consult with stakeholders using market knowledge and insights to ensure the best hiring decisions
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruitment practices, pipelines, and candidate experience
  • Manage multi-step hiring processes across global teams and time zones, ensuring a smooth and high-quality candidate experience
  • Champion Metrea’s employer brand to attract mission-aligned talent
What You Bring

  • Proven ability to consult, partner, and influence – with the credibility to challenge senior stakeholders and earn their trust
  • Familiarity with a wide range of domain-specific talent markets, including key talent pools and industry trends
  • Strong judgment in shaping recruitment approaches and improving processes to deliver high-quality hires
  • Track record of building and maintaining diverse, high-quality candidate pipelines
  • Experience managing multi-step hiring processes across global teams and time zones
  • Ability to balance breadth and depth, adapting to varying role types and business needs
  • Experience with Greenhouse or other applicant tracking systems
  • Familiarity with enterprise support functions (People, Finance, Operations, Legal, Strategy)
Benefits

  • HSA/FSA accounts
  • Dental and vision coverage
  • 6% employer 401(k) match

    Long-term and Short-term disability coverage
  • AD&D Coverage
  • Pet Insurance

Our Firmware

At Metrea, our single core value is Rooted in Humility, and our four cornerstone attributes are Entrepreneurial, Systematic, Discerning, and Over-Deliver. These form what we call our Teammate Firmware. Just like technical firmware connects software and hardware, our Firmware is the constant interface between our mission and our people. It defines how we show up, how we work together, and how we solve complex problems.

Our team Firmware creates a web-like, hyper-collaborative, dynamically hierarchical way of working that helps us adapt quickly, communicate openly, and distribute decision-making to where expertise actually lives. It enables groups to self-organize around hard problems, shift fluidly as priorities evolve, and operate with the trust, curiosity, and discipline required in a complex mission space. This foundation allows us to deliver elegant, effective solutions and uphold our purpose: protecting our precious inheritance.
