Job summary

Universal Alloy Corporation is seeking a Talent Acquisition & Development Specialist to lead full-cycle recruiting, coordinate onboarding, and drive leadership development programs in a manufacturing setting.

The role partners with hiring managers, builds talent pipelines, and analyzes workforce data to support strategic decisions. On-site work environment with emphasis on candidate experience and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent related work experience.
  • Minimum Experience: 3 years of experience in talent acquisition, recruiting, onboarding, talent management, learning and development, or a related HR discipline required.
  • Paylocity experience preferred.
  • Experience utilizing ATS and HCM systems required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for exempt and non-exempt positions for both external and internal candidates.
  • Partner with hiring managers to assess staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.
  • Develop talent pipelines for current and future workforce needs.
  • Conduct candidate screening interviews and assessments.
  • Coordinate candidate testing, facility tours, interviews, and hiring activities.
  • Manage relationships with recruiting agencies and external recruiting partners.
  • Participate in job fairs, recruiting events, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Maintain internal job posting and applicant communication processes.
  • Deliver a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
  • Ensure recruiting and selection processes comply with applicable employment laws and company policies.

Position Overview

The Talent Acquisition & Development Specialist is responsible for attracting, onboarding, and developing talent across the organization. This role leads full-cycle recruiting efforts, coordinates onboarding and leadership development programs, administers talent-related initiatives, and provides workforce insights through analytics and reporting.

This highly visible position serves as a key partner to hiring managers and leaders, balancing recruiting priorities with development initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role requires strong business partnership skills, adaptability, data analysis capabilities, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

This position operates fully on-site and regularly engages with candidates, employees, leaders, educational partners, and workforce development organizations.

Hiring Manager Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted recruiting partner to hiring managers and business leaders.
  • Consult with leaders on staffing strategies, talent availability, and market conditions.
  • Provide regular updates regarding recruiting progress and candidate pipelines.
  • Present candidate recommendations and assessment findings to hiring managers and facilitate selection discussions.
  • Navigate competing priorities while maintaining strong service levels.
Onboarding & New Hire Experience
  • Coordinate and facilitate New Employee Orientation.
  • Administer the organization's onboarding and 90-day integration process.
  • Support new hire engagement and successful assimilation into the organization.
  • Monitor onboarding effectiveness and retention outcomes.
  • Coordinate internship and apprenticeship onboarding activities.
Leadership Development & Employee Development
  • Coordinate leadership development programs and training initiatives.
  • Develop participant materials, presentations, communications, and program resources.
  • Co-facilitate leadership development programs with the Sr. HR Business Partner.
  • Coordinate training schedules, logistics, attendance tracking, and participant communications.
  • Administer tuition reimbursement and educational assistance programs.
  • Support employee development and workforce readiness initiatives.
Talent Analytics & Reporting
  • Analyze recruiting, onboarding, retention, and employee lifecycle data.
  • Develop and maintain talent acquisition, onboarding, and development KPIs.
  • Administer onboarding and new hire experience surveys and utilize feedback to improve onboarding effectiveness and retention.
  • Monitor key recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, quality of hire, and candidate conversion rates.
  • Prepare talent insights and recommendations for leaders and HR leadership.
  • Administer employee surveys and feedback initiatives.
  • Analyze onboarding and exit feedback to identify trends and opportunities.
Systems & Technology
  • Maintain proficiency in the Paylocity Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and Human Capital Management (HCM).
  • Utilize HR technology to streamline recruiting and onboarding workflows.
  • Generate reports and analytics to support talent initiatives.
Community Partnerships & Workforce Development
  • Develop and maintain relationships with schools, technical colleges, apprenticeships, and workforce development organizations.
  • Manage internship and apprenticeship programs.
  • Support employment branding and recruitment marketing efforts.

Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing ATS and HCM systems required.
  • Paylocity experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting leadership development programs preferred.
  • Certifications: PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.

Working Conditions
  • Office environment; Monday – Friday
  • Some employee events or meetings may take place during 2nd or 3rd shift or on a weekend day
  • At times, may conduct work in one of the production mills or warehouse; PPE is required.
