Chemtek, a family-owned leader in road construction and aviation products, seeks a Talent Acquisition & HR Manager to own recruiting from strategy to onboarding. You’ll drive outbound sourcing, partner with managers, and help shape the people experience as we scale from 30 to 50 employees.

Based at the historic American Tobacco Campus in Durham, NC, you’ll own full-cycle recruiting for sales, admin, and light manufacturing, while expanding HR programs and policies for a growing organization.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in high-growth or sales settings.
• Proven outbound sourcing experience via LinkedIn Recruiter, boolean search, referrals.
• Experience hiring sales professionals, ideally outside sales.
• Comfort with ATS and HRIS; BambooHR experience is a plus.
• Valid driver license; occasional travel to Yanceyville plant.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
• Experience recruiting for manufacturing, construction, or industrial trades is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle recruiting for sales, administrative, and light manufacturing roles.
• Source actively; outbound outreach to candidates beyond job boards.
• Partner with hiring managers to define scorecards, structure interviews, and advance searches.
• Own the onboarding process and create a consistent new-hire experience.
• Take on broader HR responsibilities as the function grows, including employee relations support and policy work.
• Build a candidate pipeline that outlasts any single opening.

We’re not your typical industrial company — we’re fast-moving, forward-thinking, and growing quickly, fueled by social media buzz and a reputation for products that actually make a difference. We’re on track to grow from 30 to 50 employees in the next year — and we need a Talent Acquisition & HR Manager to lead the way. This isn’t a back-office role. You’ll be the engine behind our hiring, owning recruiting from strategy through onboarding, and helping shape the people experience as we scale.

You will work at the historic American Tobacco Campus, downtown Durham — complete with covered parking, great restaurants, and entertainment right outside the door.

What you will do

• Lead full-cycle recruiting for sales, administrative, and light manufacturing roles.
• Source Actively. The outside salespeople we need are employed and are not browsing job boards, so this role requires real outbound work rather than posting and waiting
• Partner with hiring managers to define scorecards, structure interviews, and keep searches moving

• Own the onboarding process and create a consistent, effective experience for new hires.

• Take on broader HR responsibilities as the function grows, including employee relations support, benefits enrollment coordination, and policy and handbook work
• Build a candidate pipeline that outlasts any single opening. Continuity is the point of this role.

What we are looking for

• Five or more years of full-cycle recruiting, including in-house experience preferably in high-growth or sales-oriented environments.

• A track record of outbound sourcing: LinkedIn Recruiter, boolean search, referral networks, direct outreach
• Experience hiring sales professionals, ideally outside sales
• Comfort working in an ATS and HRIS. BambooHR experience is a plus
• Valid driver license. Occasional travel to our Yanceyville plant, about an hour away, in a company vehicle during normal business hours.
• SHRM-CP, PHR or equivalent certification is a plus
• Recruiting experience in manufacturing, construction, building products, industrial or the trades is a plus

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary of $ 72,000 to $ 88,000, depending on experience
• Annual bonus of $8,000 to $12,000, tied to retention of the people you hire, time to fill, and onboarding quality. This is not a per-hire commission, and that is deliberate.
• Hybrid schedule: three days on-site in Durham, two days remote
