Job summary

KE&G Construction Inc. is seeking a Takeoff Technician to support GPS and digital takeoff workflows for heavy civil projects. You will produce accurate, well-documented quantity takeoffs and define scope to improve bid accuracy.

You will collaborate with estimators and project managers, interpret plans, build surface models, and ensure data integrity from survey inputs. The role blends field and office work on earthwork, utilities, paving, and site improvements.

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years in heavy civil takeoffs or related preconstruction/estimating support.
• Experience with Arizona agencies (City/County/ADOT).
• Familiarity with GPS machine control and drone files and survey workflows.
• Exposure to production-based estimating and crew-based cost codes (e.g., HCSS).
• Proficiency with Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed digital takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, curb/gutter, base, asphalt, concrete, and structures.
• Generate mass haul diagrams, balance reports, and material summaries; apply swell/shrink factors.
• Interpret plans and notes; corroborate with specs, geotech, traffic control, and addenda/RFIs.
• Build and QA/QC surface models, align plan/profile sheets, and verify datum/benchmark consistency.
• Coordinate with estimators and PMs to align takeoffs with project phasing; interface with field operations for constructability feedback.
