Job summary

Brobston Group LLC in Century City, Los Angeles, seeks an experienced tailor to perform expert garment alterations, ensuring precise fit and finish for our clients. You will work closely with store management and sales staff to deliver timely adjustments while maintaining a well-organized tailor shop.

This role requires proficiency in sewing techniques, fabrics knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple alterations with excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in garment alterations, preferably in men’s tailoring or formalwear.
• Proficiency in sewing techniques and use of tailoring equipment and machines.
• Strong understanding of fabrics, garment construction, and color perception.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple alterations efficiently.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, professional appearance, and ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Perform alterations on men’s suits, shirts, coats, blazers, and trousers including sleeve shortening/lengthening, tapering, collar adjustments, and trouser waist/length/thigh/foot width modifications.
• Accurately mark garments and ensure all alterations meet company standards for fit and finish.
• Collaborate with sales associates on sizing and garment recommendations for customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-functioning tailor shop and ensure equipment is in good working order.
• Provide high-level customer service by delivering timely and precise alterations.
