Job summary

Centerra Gold invites an experienced Tailings Superintendent to join Thompson Creek Mine in Challis, Idaho. You will lead tailings operations, ensure safe, compliant storage, and collaborate with engineering, operations and regulators to optimize performance.

This role requires senior engineering background, 8–12 years in mining or tailings, strong leadership, and a commitment to health and environmental stewardship. Centerra offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in mining, civil, geotechnical or environmental engineering.
• Professional engineering designation is an asset.
• Minimum 8–12 years in mining or tailings management.
• Proven leadership in tailings, mining or processing operations.
• Knowledge of Tailings Storage Facility operations and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for tailings operations including deposition and water management.
• Ensure Tailings Storage Facility operations meet design, permits and standards.
• Develop and lead the tailings operations team.
• Collaborate with engineers, regulators and external specialists.
• Oversee budgets and resource planning.
• Support capital projects and closure planning.
• Participate in emergency planning for Tailings Storage Facility.
