Job Description

Big Language Solutions is hiring hourly interpreters to provide interpreting services via telephone to our customers and their clients.

We provide services to clients all over the country and service over 240 Languages and dialects. Our interpreters are important to us. Beyond their expert services, we place importance on their job satisfaction and their ability to provide for their families.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Facilitate understanding in communication by faithfully interpreting into the target language, without adding, omitting, or changing anything.
2. Maintain impartiality and show no bias or preference toward either party while interpreting.
3. Interpret in the first form at all times, clarify when necessary, and maintain confidentiality according to the code of ethics for interpreters.
4. Be aware of cultural differences and explain them when appropriate.
5. Continuously improve interpreting skills and ethical performance, demonstrating high customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Tagalog.
• Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
• Must be located in Houston, Texas, 77056 area (if not working from home in the USA).

Language Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, memos, and correspondence.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Effective in presenting information to individuals and small groups.

Additional Details

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $18-$30 Hourly, subject to experience, training, education, and location.
