Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Metal Body Repairman under TACOM (RRAD) program to perform metal fabrication, hull repair, door alignment, welding, and panel restoration on tactical and support vehicles.

The role emphasizes reading blueprints, using welding, cutting, grinding, and fitting parts to restore vehicle bodies to spec. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 2–5 years in automotive body or heavy equipment repair, and the ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; supplemental technical or vocational training preferred.
• Two to five years in the Automotive Body and Heavy Mobile Equipment Servicing Industry.
• Ability to read and write English, follow shop instructions.
• Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Determines repair, replacement, rebuild, and/or modification for vehicle hulls.
• Inspects hull for mislocated holes, hatch/linkage issues, and damaged components.
• Checks for cracks, torn or delaminated metal and parts location.
• Fabricates parts, fixtures, and templates using drawings and field knowledge.
• Welds with inert gas shielded and other welding processes; ensures quality welds.
• Repairs doors, hinges, and panels; aligns hull with proper clearances.
• Welds patches, straightens damaged panels, and inspects finished work.
