Job summary

United Defense Tactical is seeking a Firearms Instructor to join our team in San Antonio. You will lead training sessions, deliver safety briefings, and guide members through realism-based simulations using our threat-based simulator.

You’ll develop student proficiency, ensure strict safety standards, and maintain equipment and the range. The role requires a minimum of 3 years’ instructor or law enforcement experience and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience as a firearms instructor or law enforcement officer.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Certifications and licenses for instructing.
• Knowledge of firearm safety and handling protocols.

Responsibilities

• Instruct members using UDT’s threat-based reality simulator.
• Teach force-on-force and self-defense training courses.
• Conduct firearms training sessions for individuals and groups, including safety and techniques.
• Teach proper firearm safety rules and protocols to ensure awareness of hazards.
• Maintain training equipment and facility.
• Monitor and maintain a safe range environment during training.
• Evaluate participants' performance and provide feedback to improve skills.
• Stay current with industry developments and training techniques.

United Defense Tactical (UDT) is seeking a Firearms Instructor to join our team and deliver a world-class, reality-based training experience to our members.

UDT is redefining firearms training by moving beyond traditional instruction. Through advanced threat-based simulation technology, reality-based force-on-force scenarios, and live-fire training, we prepare civilians, military, and law enforcement for real-world defensive situations.

As a Firearms Instructor, you will lead training sessions, teach firearm safety and handling fundamentals, develop student proficiency, and provide an engaging learning experience that reflects UDT’s commitment to excellence.

What You'll Do

• Instruct our members using UDT’s threat-based reality simulator.
• Teach our force on force and self-defense training courses.
• Conduct firearms training sessions for individuals and groups, including basic safety, handling, and shooting techniques.
• Teach proper firearm safety rules and protocols to ensure all participants are aware of the potential hazards associated with firearms.
• Maintain training equipment and facility.
• Monitor and maintain a safe and secure range environment during training sessions.
• Evaluate participants' performance and provide feedback to help them improve their skills.
• Stay current with industry developments, new equipment, and training techniques to ensure that training sessions are up-to-date and effective.

Schedule

• Full-time, 40 hours/week.
• Note: Our facility opens soon.
• Location: 12500 Network Blvd., ste 408

What We're Looking For

• Ability to learn and adhere to UDT’s extensive and in-depth curriculum.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a firearms Instructor/law enforcement officer.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of firearm safety and handling protocols.
• Familiarity with a variety of firearms and their operation.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
• Comfortable working in an outdoor range environment.
• Poses any necessary certifications and licenses for instructing.

Compensation: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
