Job summary

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) is seeking a Stimulator/Message Software Engineer in Mount Laurel, NJ to join the Warfare Systems team. You will architect and refactor legacy weapons software into a modern microservices-based stack for cloud-native and tactical-edge deployment, supporting Navy surface and unmanned platforms.

The role emphasizes real-time, AI/ML analytics, cybersecurity, and DoD-standard software in a highly accountable, on-site environment with active Secret clearance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of full-time professional software engineering experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.
• Experience with combat/tactical systems software on DoD programs is a plus.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Python, and Java with Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test complex software in C++, Kafka, DDS/Protobuf.
• Integrate software components into DoD environments and microservices stacks.
• Prototype AI/ML-enabled and distributed solutions for tactical platforms.
• Collaborate with customers to elicit requirements and present progress updates.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure adherence to security and performance standards.
