Job summary

SCCI is seeking a Software Developer to support weapon system programs in Dahlgren, VA. You will design, develop, and test real-time C++ software for tactical applications, collaborating with engineers, managers, and end-users throughout design, integration, and prototyping phases.

The role emphasizes performance verification, test planning, data analysis, and reporting, with a strong focus on quality and documentation in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
• BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent professional experience
• 3–5 years of professional software development in C++ (C++11 or later)
• Experience with multiple simulation environments (NGTS, AFSIM, ITASE)
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Proficiency with debugging tools and code profiling
• Ability to write portable code across Windows and Linux
• Knowledge of build automation tools (CMake)
• Proficiency with unit testing frameworks (Google Test)
• Experience developing test plans, procedures, and strategies
• Proficiency with test diagnostics equipment
• Experience collecting, processing, and presenting test data
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel)
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Attention to detail in project documentation
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, test and deploy software in C++ for real-time tactical and simulation applications
• Collaborate with engineers, managers, and stakeholders to meet performance and verification requirements
• Contribute to system architecture within a Tactical Software Development Team
• Create and execute test cases, document results, and communicate improvements
• Collect and analyze system test data and generate reports
• Provide system test documentation and progress updates
• Interact with broader engineering teams to analyze software performance
• Participate in project reviews
