Job summary

SCCI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our on-site Dahlgren, VA team to support a Weapon System Program. You will design, develop, and test real-time C++ software for tactical and simulation applications, working with engineers, end-users, management, and sponsors through design, integration, and iterative testing.

The role requires a BS in CS/CE or related field (or equivalent), 10+ years of experience in C++, and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of professional software development in C++ (C++11 or later).
• Experience with multiple simulation environments (NGTS, AFSIM, ITASE).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Version control experience (Git).
• Proficient debugging and profiling; portable code across Windows and Linux; build automation with CMake.
• Proficient with unit testing (Google Test); capable of creating test plans and documenting results.
• Strong documentation and communication skills; ability to work with engineers, managers, and sponsors.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy C++ software for real-time tactical and simulation apps.
• Collaborate with engineers, managers, and stakeholders to meet performance and verification requirements.
• Contribute to system architecture and Tactical Software Development Team activities.
• Create and execute test cases; document results and coordinate with teams for improvements.
• Collect, analyze, and present test data; generate system test reports.
• Participate in project reviews and cross-team activities.
